PI - Postdoctoral Fellow Call at the Communication Research Group

The Vice-rectorate for Research and International Relations along with the Communication research team at the University of Deusto are seeking postdoctoral candidates to join the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences.

Purpose of the position:

• Strengthen the competitiveness of the research group.
• Increase the level of academic coherence and collaboration through co-authorship and cooperation with the team.
• Expand the thematic scope of research activities.
• Support the organization of academic events.
• Increase the level of publication in high-ranked journals.
• Enhance the team’s international and national presence and influence through participation in conferences.
• Support the development of new research projects.
• Enhance further the international character of the research group.

Research Topic:

• The challenges that democracies face in the light of the new communication practices.
• The impact of digital and traditional media on social cohesion and collective well-being.
• Social change in the mediated, interconnected, and rapidly changing world.
• Public communication strategies for an inclusive and sustainable society.

Objectives of the position:

• Publishing in high-impact journals (WoS and SJR) along with group members
• Working in competitive projects (Basque Government, Spanish Government, Horizon Europe…)
• Submitting competitive research proposals.
• Collaborating in the preparation of activities and helping with everyday tasks of the research group.
• Supporting the organization of academic events.
• Participating in relevant international conferences.

We offer:

• Duration: The contract will be for 3 years.
• Amount and terms of payment: An allocation of 32,985.15 to 42,000 gross euros per year will be granted, distributed into 15 monthly installments, depending on the candidate’s experience.
• Terms:The contract with the University of Deusto will fall under the associate researcher/investigador/a asociado/a category.
