About the University of Deusto

The university hosts dynamic research groups across a wide range of disciplines, including social sciences, engineering, health, and digital technologies.

About the Deusto FamilyPsych Research Team

Deusto FamilyPsych is a research team at the University of Deusto, recognised by the Basque Government and focused on assessment and intervention with children, couples and families.

Our research is related to Family Psychology and Family Therapy, from a systemic and dynamic-relational perspective. Our aim is to assess and intervene with families in adverse situations, seeking to understand the mechanisms that generate difficulties among family members and contributing to the development of assessment instruments and intervention programmes, with the goal of promoting the psychological well-being of all family members.

Our research areas are linked to intrafamily conflict (separation/divorce, legal and forensic assessment), family well-being and protection (perinatality, early childhood and adolescence, vulnerability and risk) and family and diversity (adoption, same-sex parenting, context, business, work-life balance).
