Job description

The University of Deusto invites applications from outstanding candidates interested in joining the university as a Ikerbasque Research Fellow, through the 2021 call launched by Ikerbasque - the Basque Foundation for Science. The call offers 20 positions in total for postdoctoral researchers. These positions are financed by the Basque Government and the host institution where the researcher will develop his/her research.

The five year Fellowships are directed to promising young researchers and intend to offer a track towards a PI role and independent research. Ikerbasque is committed to offer a long-term career to the research community. Fellows in their 5th year can be assessed for a permanent position.

Thefore, the Faculty of Law of the University of Deusto seeks established and senior leading researcher candidates at the “Cooperativism, taxation, promotion, labour relations and social protection” research team that will apply to the Ikerbasque Research Fellows Call.

Field of study / Research Lines:

Adaptability of labour relations in a crisis situation, especially after the Covid-19 health crisis.
Sustainability and universal protection of Social Security Systems.
Working conditions in social economy entities, especially in cooperatives.
Robotics, new technologies and employment policies.

Requirements

Candidate Requirements:

Applicants should have completed their PhD between 01/01/2010 and 31/12/2018.
Excellent written and oral English language skills are required.
Promising young researchers with a solid research track and international experience in any of the areas related to the research lines.
Established researchers, with 3 to 10 years of postdoctoral experience will apply for permanent positions as Research Fellows.
Researchers with a permanent position in the Basque Country are not eligible under this call.
This call provides competitive opportunities to Basque researchers who want to develop long-term careers in the Basque Country. It is intended that at least 30% of the positions will be awarded to candidates who meet one or more of these requirements:
- The researcher obtained her/his PhD in a Basque university.
- The researcher graduated from a Basque university.
- The researcher has lived in the Basque Country 10 or more years during her/his lifetime
Applications from women are especially welcomed. The eligibility period will be extended under special circumstances such as maternity.

A proposal describing the motivation for joining the Cooperativism, taxation, promotion, labour relations and social protection research team and explaining the research lines and interests that would carry out at the University of Deusto.
